Emotional Therapeutic Counselling is a creative talk-based therapy which helps you to make sense of and resolve emotions and patterns behind current difficulties in order to enable real and lasting changes in yourself, your relationships and your life. It is a humanistic and person-centred therapy, meaning that I won’t ‘diagnose’ you, or try to tell you what’s wrong with you, but will aim to encourage and support you to come to your own understanding and move towards wellbeing, wholeness and growth. Many people have found that ETC has helped them with a wide range of problems including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship and communication issues, anger, abuse, bullying, trauma etc.

ETC is both creative and pragmatic. There is space for open-ended discussion and exploration in which you can unfold at you own pace, and also, if you wish, creative structured exercises to help you focus on and make sense of your experience. In addition, as an embodied therapist I have practical tools to help you access feelings of strength, safety and calmness in your body and nervous system to help you support you on your journey.

I believe (and much research has born this out) that by far the most important element in successful therapy is the quality of relationship between client and therapist. I aim to treat you as an equal, with understanding and respect, to meet you where you are, and to be real, present and empathic. I undertake to self-reflect, be honest if I make a mistake and to act responsibly and ethically at all times.

How do you know if this is a good fit for you?

It’s really important to make sure that you choose the right person to work with. For this reason I offer a free 40 minute initial consultation so you can get to meet me and decide if I am the right person for you to work with.


I offer ETC from a dedicated studio at my home in Midhurst and at the Hamblin Centre in Bosham.

Sessions generally last an hour and cost £40. A sliding scale is available in cases of real need.

Free Introductory Session

I offer a free, no obligation, half-hour introductory session so that you can meet me and get a sense of whether you think we could work productively together.

Following this introductory session you are welcome to:

  • Continue straight on into your first full session

  • Book a full session on a different day 

  • Decide not to take it further, or

  • Go away and think further about what you would like to do.
